Police Sergeant opening

The Town of Madison Police Department is seeking applicants for a vacant patrol sergeant position.  The work schedule is 6-3 and generally working 6:00 pm – 2:00 am with some flexibility.

The Town of Madison Police Department has started a hiring process! If you meet our minimum qualifications below and are interested in working in a busy urban environment then you should apply!

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED or HSED
  • 60 college credits
  • No felony or domestic abuse convictions
  • 5 years law enforcement experience
  • Out-of-state applicants must be eligible for certification through Training and Standards
  • Good driving record
  • Good physical condition (must be able to be certified by a medical professional to be able to complete the duties of a police officer)
  • Good verbal and written skills
  • Clear and concise speech
  • Must be able to work well with others and alone

Benefits

  • Starting monthly salary is $6,299.58 (2019 wages)
  • 6-3 working schedule (1950 hours per year)
