There is a lot of training that takes place with a K9 team.  Beside the initial 10 weeks of training the team trains 16 hours a month.  That is on top of the regular in-service training the handler has to go through!

At S.K.I.D.D.S. officers and K9 teams learn approaches, entries, slow stealth and tactical team movements and searching techniques, safer arrest techniques along with team movement during live gunfire. The skills learned at S.K.I.D.D.S. will enhance their searching abilities and make your job safer and easier.  Learn more here.
